Frequently Asked Questions
How long until I can play my favorite song?
If someone promises you’ll play your favorite song within a month, they’re probably selling you a dream. Nothing is impossible, but everything has a price: time, practice, focus, money, and plans you’ll turn down to sit with your guitar. And we’re all made differently: some people master the basics in a month, others need four. What I can promise is that you’ll know exactly where you stand, what you’re missing, and the fastest path for you — not for someone else.
Can’t I just learn from YouTube for free?
You can, and some people really have. But most videos don’t follow a clear order that takes you from one step to the next, so you end up jumping from video to video without knowing where you are. And a video can’t see your hands: it won’t tell you that your finger is resting on the next string, or that your wrist is bent at an angle that will hurt after a while or keep you from playing smoothly. A mistake you teach yourself takes twice as long to fix — my job is to save you that detour.
How much should I practice each day?
15 to 20 minutes every day beats three hours on a Friday. Guitar is learned through consistency, not bursts of enthusiasm. And if your schedule doesn’t let you pick up the guitar between lessons, don’t let that stop you — just know your progress will be slower than usual.
Why do you teach sheet music? Aren’t chords enough?
Chords let you play songs; reading music lets you understand the songs you play. Sheet music is a language like any other: once you can read it, you can read any music you love without waiting for someone to explain it to you. We learn both, and the focus follows your goals.
I don’t have a guitar yet — what should I buy?
Don’t buy one before your first lesson. Most beginners buy the wrong guitar: the strings sit too high and hurt, the size doesn’t fit, or there’s an internal problem that affects the sound. Then you practice without enjoying it, and that alone is enough to make you quit. Tell me your budget and I’ll recommend one.
How long is a lesson, and where does it take place?
A standard lesson is 45 minutes. For young children it can be 30 minutes, and for adults it can go up to an hour. Lessons take place at your home in Riyadh, or online if that suits you better.
Is there a trial lesson?
Yes — a 30-minute online or 45-minute in-person lesson, at a reduced price and paid in advance. If you then sign up for any package, it counts as the first lesson. Lessons & packages policy details
